Ruth 3 has often been clouded with speculation. Is there anyway that Ruth and Boaz didn’t engage in the inevitable? Yes! Both were righteous and Ruth needed a redeemer. What she would do to be redeemed could be costly, but it could reap great reward.

The series on Ruth continues as we open up chapter 2. Ruth stumbles onto a field belonging to a relative who has the ability to redeem her. He is qualified, but will he?

A sermon delivered on Sunday May 19, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Eastwood. Ruth 1:6-22 encompasses the return of Naomi and Ruth to Bethlehem. The hand of God was. and continues to work as he is preparing to redeem Ruth and in-turn redeem Naomi. This story reminds us of the refuge we find in God under the wing of our redeemer Jesus Christ.

The beginning of Ruth might be the most depressing text in the Bible. It starts with a famine and ends with the death of three people. The grief does not lift yet God is still working in the story. This is the beginning of the book of Ruth.
