As Jesus continues his farewell discourse he promises his disciples the coming helper; the Holy Spirit. Through our union with Christ the Father and the Son make their home in those who believe in Jesus, by the Spirit. Therefore we should walk by the Spirit as we seek to live lives glorifying to God.
Jesus was an unexpected King who came to rule and reign in a kingdom that will never end. But many would never have expected his reign to come through not in spite of his death. In fact, his kingdom must be inaugurated through his death, resurrection, and ascension. Ultimatley leading to his glorification as the Son at the right hand of the Father.
We all worship something. What do you worship? There is only one recipient of “right” worship, all others are sinful and wrong. What happens when God is worshipped? There are witnesses who see the goodness of God. Believer, you will never find yourself saying, “I worshipped God too much.”
As believers in Christ, we are called to the same holiness of God. We have been made holy, and we are called to live holy lives for the glory of the one who is holy.
I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who believes in me shall never die.
Explicit faith in Jesus is required. A response is demanded. Jesus, if you believe in him, has already made you alive with him. Enjoy.
